Overall customer satisfaction with major electric utility companies in Florida show Progress Energy Florida, Florida Power & Light and Tampa Electric all ranked below the regional average, according to the results of J.D. Power and Associates' annual electric utility residential customer satisfaction study released today.
On a satisfaction scale of 1,000, Progress Energy received a 627, followed closely by Florida Power & Light's 624 and Tampa Electric at 597. The southern region's average in the survey was 630.
The study measures customer satisfaction with electric utility companies by examining six factors: power quality and reliability; price; billing and payment; corporate citizenship; communications; and customer service.
