HBA SELECTS NEW EXECUTIVE OFFICER: Lisa Kiddon was recently selected as the new CEO for the Hernando Builders Association, replacing Brenda McDaniel.

Kiddon was a member of the HBA board of directors for eight years and a member of the executive board for the Florida Home Builders Association. She has more than 25 years of advertising, sales and marketing background, along with knowledge of the building industry.

BPW TO MEET: Hernando County Business and Professional Women will have its monthly meeting Aug. 26 in the pool room at Atria Evergreen Woods, 7030 Evergreen Woods Trail, Spring Hill. Networking begins at 5:30 p.m.; dinner will be at 6.

2014 SUMMER NIGHT CA$H BASH DATE SET: The Hernando Builders Association's 2014 Summer Night Ca$h Bash will be Aug. 23 at the Palace Grand in Spring Hill. This year's event is presented by Kilgroe, Frantzis, Quinty and Associates-UBS Investments.

The event includes more than $11,000 in cash and prizes, food and fun. Just 400 tickets will be sold. Tickets are $75 per person or $95 per couple, and include dinner and entry into the grand prize drawing. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the YMCA of the Suncoast in Spring Hill. CHAMBER SPONSORS RESIDENTS RECEPTION: The Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Hernando County Residents Reception from 5 to 8 p.m. Sept. 12 at Weeki Wachee Springs State Park, 6131 Commercial Way, Spring Hill.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet chamber members and representatives from the Hernando County Commission, the Sheriff's Office, other county offices and representatives of the School Board.

QUICKBOOKS SEMINAR: The Small Business Development Center at the University of South Florida, in partnership with the Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce, will offer a seminar, "Understanding QuickBooks," from 2 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the chamber office, 15588 Aviation Loop Drive, south of Brooksville.
