HORIZON HOMECARE RECEIVES FIVE STARS: Horizon Homecare, a nurse-owned and -operated company serving clients in Hernando, Citrus, Pasco, Pinellas and Sumter counties, recently received five stars from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

Utilizing a scale from one to five, with five being the best possible score, home health agencies across the nation were given a "quality of patient care star rating."

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services announced that the new star rating is a part of an effort at the Department of Health and Human Services to transform the health care system to deliver better care and spend dollars in a smarter way.

NEW U-HAUL DEALER IN SPRING HILL: Compass Self Storage, 10161 County Line Road, Spring Hill, recently signed on with U-Haul to offer products from the do-it-yourself moving and self-storage company. There are 57 Compass Self Storage locations, 52 of which offer U-Haul rentals.

CERTIFICATION IN HEALTH CARE COMPLIANCE: Access Health Care, based in Spring Hill, announced that Juan Triana, the company's chief compliance officer, has achieved national certification in health care compliance by the Certification Compliance Board.

Being certified demonstrates expertise in helping mitigate compliance-related risks. Certification is valid for two years.

CHAMBER MEMBERSHIP MEETING: The Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce will have its monthly membership meeting at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday at Silverthorn Country Club, 4550 Golf Club Lane, south of Brooksville.

BUSINESS BRIEF: The Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce will host its monthly Business Brief after the chamber's membership meeting at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Silverthorn Country Club, 4550 Golf Club Lane, south of Brooksville.

There will be a presentation by Save Our Schools Hernando, with guest speaker John Mitten. A question-and-answer period will follow.

SMALL BUSINESS SEMINAR: Pasco Hernando SCORE will present a free seminar, "E-Marketing Concepts," from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 28 at the Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce, 15588 Aviation Loop Drive, south of Brooksville.

The seminar will be presented by Jim Karam. Participants will learn how small businesses can use e-marketing technologies to reach customers.

RESIDENTS RECEPTION: The Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a Residents Reception from 5 to 8 p.m. Sept. 11 at Weeki Wachee Springs State Park, 6131 Commercial Way, Weeki Wachee.

The event is for those who have questions about schools, safety and law enforcement, roads and local government, health care and where to shop, eat and play in Hernando.

Those attending will be able to meet representatives from the Hernando County Commission, the Sheriff's Office, the Property Appraiser's Office, the Tax Collector's Office, the Supervisor of Elections' Office and the School Board.

Local restaurants will offer free samples of their signature dishes. The event is free.
