LIFEGUARD URGENT CARE OPENS: LifeGuard Urgent Care has opened at 491 Mariner Blvd., Spring Hill. The facility offers an alternative to going to the emergency room, and the staff offers same-day care for nonlife-threatening illnesses and injuries, with a bilingual staff member scheduled for every shift. The facility is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week. LifeGuard's pricing is based on the level of care the patient needs, for self-pay patients. Rates start at $85 for a standard office visit, $129 for an office visit with an additional procedure, such as an X-ray, and $299 for an office visit with more than one additional procedure. HOSPITAL ADDING FLOOR TO NORTH TOWER: Oak Hill Hospital in Spring Hill recently received approval from its parent company, HCA, to add a fourth floor to its North Tower, at a cost of $6.3 million.The added floor is in addition to the third floor/obstetrics project already under construction. The cost of the obstetrics project is $13.7 million, bringing this year's total investment to $20 million.The project is scheduled for completion in early summer of 2016.

NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AT Y: Amber Slusser is the new executive director of the Hernando County Family YMCA, at 1300 Mariner Blvd., Spring Hill. Slusser began her YMCA career with the YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg in 2001. She began working for the YMCA of the Suncoast in 2005 at the Hernando County branch. While developing family and teen programs locally, she moved into a district program director's role, implementing programs and services in Citrus County as well. Having recently served as the operations director at the Clearwater YMCA, Slusser has returned to her home branch. She has a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Florida and a master's degree in rehabilitation and mental health counseling from the University of South Florida.
