During July, Changes Adult Fitness Center of Spring Hill, 12597 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, along with Blue Star Families and Lea's Prayers & Postage, will offer residents a chance to thank members of the military through Operation Appreciation.
People can drop off a card or letter thanking a member of the military that will be mailed to troops at home and overseas.

Dr. Donna Mignemi has opened a mobile veterinary practice, Nature Coast Mobile Veterinary Services, which serves home-bound individuals, those who don't drive and people who have animals that do not travel well.
The clinic operates aboard a 26-foot van and features a surgery room, a lift exam table, an ultrasonic dental unit with a dental sink, a walk-on scale, an autoclave, a centrifuge, microscope and an X-ray machine.
Mignemi earned her doctor of veterinary medicine degree in 1993 from the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in Ithaca, N.Y. She practiced on Long Island in New York for 17 years, establishing Island Mobile Veterinary Services in 2003. Before that, Mignemi was the medical director at an animal hospital in Bayport, N.Y.
To be closer to family, Mignemi moved to Florida with her husband and four dogs.
The clinic operates by appointment from 9:15 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 9:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. most Saturdays. Depending on the needs of clients, other arrangements can be made outside of regular hours. For information, call (352) 835-7537.

The Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce and the Small Business Development Center at University of South Florida will offer a seminar, "Building the Ultimate Business Plan," from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the chamber office, 15588 Aviation Loop Drive, south of Brooksville.
The seminar will be presented by Bill McKown, certified business analyst. Participants will receive all of the tools necessary to complete a practical business plan, including a copy of the Ultimate Business Planner software.

Ten percent of customers' bills will be donated to Stage West. Those participating must present a copy of the Dining to Donate flier to their server before ordering.

A wine-tasting fundraiser will be from 7 to 10 p.m. July 23 at the Strong Tower Vineyard & Winery, 17810 Forge Drive, Spring Hill. The event will be hosted by Katie Tickner, who will be running in the Disney Wine and Dine Race, a half marathon in October, to raise funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Her goal is to raise $1,500 and cross the finish line.
People who donate $50 or more will receive a "Team in Training" thank-you gift, along with an option to set up a booth at the wine-tasting event. The event will include music, merchandise booths, appetizers and a silent auction.

A carwash to benefit the Dawn Center will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 23 in the parking lot of My Gynecologist, 11175 County Line Road, Spring Hill. Office staffers are volunteering their time to host the event.
Donations of food items, including pasta, condiments and canned goods; cleaning supplies; food storage supplies or containers, and diapers will be accepted. Items may be delivered to My Gynecologist during regular business hours or at the carwash.

The Hernando Builders Association will have its monthly general membership dinner meeting July 25 at the HBA office, 7391 Sunshine Grove Road, west of Brooksville. Sign-in and networking begin at 6 p.m.; the dinner and meeting begin at 7 p.m.
The meeting will be the annual Christmas in July event. Guests are asked to bring an item for military troops. Items will be collected all month and then sent to troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The speaker will be retired Marine Corps Col. Don Myers, author of the book Leadership Defined and a columnist for Hernando Today.

The Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce Training Committee will offer a manager/supervisor professional development training series. Workshops will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays and will cover topics for managers, supervisors or anyone pursuing a career in a management or supervisory role.
Remaining topics and dates include "Motivation," Aug. 22 and 29; "Delegation," Sept. 12 and 19, and "Performance Management," Oct. 17 and 24.
