J.D. Power: Verizon FiOS TV service outranks Bright House Networks in the South

Verizon FiOS TV service ranked second (after AT&T U-Verse) in customer satisfaction in the South, according to J.D. Power's annual residential TV service satisfaction study.

In the regional survey, Verizon was followed by DirectTV at No. 3 and Bright House Networks at No. 4. Verizon and Bright House, which improved two spots in the rankings, are the dominant residential TV service providers in the Tampa Bay area. Both Verizon and Bright House ranked higher than average in the South.

Nationwide, the study found that the number of cable customers who subscribe to additional premium channels has declined to 29 percent in 2009 from 32 percent in 2008. The number of customers who utilize video-on-demand and pay-per-view services also declined from last year.
