CARROLLWOOD — Strollers of all shapes and sizes are lined up in front of the store, and inside, there are racks of children's clothing in every color of the rainbow.
Once Upon A Child buys and sells quality, gently-used children's apparel, shoes, books, toys, baby equipment, furniture, and more.
A grand opening on June 8 saw people lined up outside before the doors opened.
"Our store fills a distinct niche in the retail market," said Jodie Whitehead, who co-owns the store with her husband, Randy Whitehead. "I understand how expensive it is to raise children today and want to offer an affordable option for local families."
Unlike typical consignment stores, consumers can sell their gently used items all day, every day, without an appointment, and receive cash on the spot.
Once Upon A Child ensures that all products purchased and sold meet mandatory and voluntary safety standards.
The store also makes it easy for parents to find what they're looking for while getting a great bargain. Clothes are neatly organized and displayed by gender, size, and color.
Once Upon A Child also carries a huge assortment of baby items such as swings, pack 'n plays, and highchairs.
In addition to the racks of clothing that are available in sizes from infant to pre-teen, there are toys of every kind and size, ranging from Barbies to big trucks. There are also costumes, tutus, and dancewear, including ballet slippers and tap shoes.
Once Upon A Child is located in the Grand Plaza at 14317 N Dale Mabry Highway. For more information, call (813) 358-3123, or visit onceuponachildnorthtampa.com.
