Largo chamber hosts holiday networking event

The Largo/Mid-Pinellas Chamber of Commerce will hold a special holiday Business After Hours networking event from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday on the deck at Jimmy Guana's, 401 Second St., Indian Rocks Beach (at the Holiday Inn Harbourside). The event is $10 for chamber members and $20 for nonmembers. Advance registration is recommended. Sip, nibble and meet new salon's owners

Beach Drive's newest hair salon, Salon LaRu, is hosting its grand opening event, "Sip and See," from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the salon, 206 Beach Drive NE. Guests can meet the owners, tour the salon and enjoy complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres. For information, call (727) 894-8418.

Author will sign her book at nightclub

Claudette Walker, author of C Street, will sign books beginning at 8 p.m. Friday at Scene Premium Nightclub, 211 Third St. S. The band FAM, creators of the music for the C Street book trailer video, will perform and discounted books will be available. For information, call (727) 258-4813.
