Russell 3000 Index adds eight Florida companies; removes four

Eight public companies in Florida are being added and four are falling off in the annual rebalancing of the Russell 3000 Index.

The index, which measures the performance of the largest 3000 U.S. companies, is adding Gerdau Ameristeel Corp. and Quality Distribution Inc., both of Tampa; MarineMax Inc. of Clearwater; Metals USA Holdings Corp. of Fort Lauderdale; Ladenburg Thalman Financial of Miami; 1st United Bancorp Inc. of Boca Raton; PGT Inc. of North Venice; and Beasley Broadcast Group of Naples.

Falling off the list this year: Odyssey Marine Research of Tampa; Benihana Inc. of Miami; and ParkerVision Inc. and Web.com Group Inc., both of Jacksonville.
