The Mosaic Co., a $5.8-billion fertilizer conglomerate, said Wednesday it's building a division headquarters near FishHawk Ranch to anchor its phosphate business.
Mosaic plans to buy 7.4 acres from FishHawk developer Newland Communities. The 100,000-square-foot building east of Bell Shoals Road will bring together nearly 400 employees from locations in Hillsborough and Polk counties.
Mosaic is the world's top producer of potash and phosphate fertilizer. Mosaic was formed in 2004 by Cargill Crop Nutrition and IMC Global. The company employs more than 7,000 employees worldwide, including about 3,000 in its Florida phosphate business.
