SAFETY HARBOR — A new brewery has become so popular that it ran out of beer last weekend.
Crooked Thumb Brewery, 555 10th Ave. S, has a 15 barrel-brew system on site. It is located at a former auto body and paint shop built in the 1960s.
The brewery is open from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, with plans to add hours next month.
So many people visited last Friday that the brewery couldn't serve anyone Saturday, according to a post on the company's Facebook page: "We're very sorry, but there really is no more beer!"
One of the more adventurous advertised brews: A fall-inspired beer made with butternut squash.
