ST. JOSEPH'S HOSPITAL-NORTH HONORED: St. Joseph's Hospital-North in Lutz was recently honored by the March of Dimes and the Florida District of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists for reducing the number of early elective inductions and caesarean deliveries. The hospital met the criteria to qualify for the distinction, which includes achieving a rate for elective deliveries before 39 completed weeks of pregnancy of 5 percent or lower. A hospital must also policies in place to prevent such deliveries.

ASSISTANT CHIEF NURSING OFFICER APPOINTED: Registered nurse Lynnette Hayes was recently appointed assistant chief nursing officer at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point in Hudson. Hayes comes to the hospital from Kansas City, Mo., where she served as a senior clinical consultant at the Cerner Corp.

SMARTSTART CO.STARTERS: SMARTstart Pasco Incubators will host its next 10-week SMARTstart CO.STARTERS session from 9 a.m. to noon every Saturday, beginning Sept. 10, at the Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce office, 6013 Wesley Grove Blvd., Wesley Chapel.
