Hardee's opens in Port Richey: Hardee's opened a restaurant at 8407 U.S. 19, Port Richey on July 11. Operated by Phase Three Star, a locally owned franchise of Hardee's restaurants, the new location will feature televisions, free WiFi and a media table for Internet users. Jason Harrison will serve as the restaurant's general manager. The business will be open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays. For information, call (727) 484-6259.

Doctor appointments at hospital: The medical staff of Medical Center of Trinity recently appointed Dr. Parveen Vahora as vice chairman of the department of surgery and Dr. Peter Candelora as secretary/treasurer of the medical executive committee. Vahora and Candelora join the hospital's current medical executive committee, consisting of: Dr. Najam Javeed, chief of staff; Dr. Usha Agarwal, vice chief of staff; Dr. Mahesh Bhambore, department of medicine chairman; Dr. Jigneshkumar Patel, department of medicine vice chairman, and Dr. Keith Chisholm, department of surgery chairman.

Nurses of the Year: Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point recently honored registered nurse Suzanne Sarabalis, medical oncology, as the hospital's RN Nurse of the Year and registered nurse Jessica Dent, cardiac surgical unit, as its New RN of the Year. Both were recognized during the annual nursing gala.

Resident of the Year: Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point recently honored Dr. Anna Marshall as its Graduate Medical Education Resident of the Year at the hospital's nursing year-in-review awards ceremony. Marshall, who received a variety of nominations, is a doctor of osteopathic medicine.

Employee of the Month: Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point recently honored registered nurse Aida Guardiani, a patient care navigator, as Employee of the Month for June. She will receive a pin, a blanket gift, a reception with refreshments for her colleagues, a front-row parking spot and a $50 gift card. Each Employee of the Month is also placed in nomination for Employee of the Year.

Physician of the Year: Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point recently honored Dr. Dominic Sorresso as Physician of the Year. Sorresso was recognized at the hospital's second annual nursing gala. Sorresso is a pulmonologist and is board certified in critical care medicine, internal medicine, pulmonary disease and sleep medicine.

Central Pasco Association of Realtors appoints new executive: Rebecca Lopez has been appointed as the new executive for the Central Pasco Association of Realtors. For more than 10 years, Lopez was the director of education for the Greater Tampa Realtors. Her career evolved from real estate brokerage and community development to public service, where she served as assistant commissioner for the city of Chicago's Department of Housing.


CHEESESTEAKS FOR A CAUSE: Taste of Philly Cheesesteaks, 7810 U.S. 19, Port Richey, will host a Cheesesteaks for a Cause to benefit the Tampabay Cat Alliance from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. July 22. CO.STARTERS: The Pasco Economic Development Council and the Greater Pasco Chamber of Commerce will co-sponsor the next session of Co.Starters, a national program that helps entrepreneurs turn an idea into a new business in 10 weeks, beginning Aug. 1 and running through Oct. 3.
