Premier Senior Living recently acquired the Summit at New Port Richey, an assisted living and memory care facility at 5539 Charles St., New Port Richey.

The principals of Premier Senior Living have owned and operated assisted living facilities since 1972. Premier's senior living communities offer independent living, assisted living and specialized assisted living for the memory impaired.

Ford of Port Richey, 10715 U.S. 19, Port Richey, is offering special pricing for all 2011 graduates in support of the nonprofit organization, Standing Tall for Veterans.

Ford of Port Richey will extend "military pricing" to 2011 high school and college graduates.

Under the program, Ford of Port Richey will also make a $100 donation to Standing Tall for each new or used vehicle sold when a customer mentions the agency.

Leadership Pasco, a development program that explores critical issues through a series of seminars and hands-on activities, is accepting applications for its class of 2012.

The program is open to people interested in community involvement and perpetuating the prosperity of Pasco County.

Topics include leadership skills, the history of Pasco County, education, health care-social services, law enforcement-criminal justice, economic and business development, government and infrastructure.

Jim Waters, a SCORE counselor, will highlight important issues such as how to structure your business, the importance of a business plan and how to prepare it, cash flow charts and finding money.

Barbara Benson and Otto Ottaviano were each awarded the distinction of Volunteer of the Year for 2010 at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, 14000 Fivay Road, Hudson. Benson began volunteering in July 2004 and has accrued 4,123 hours. She volunteers in the surgical waiting room and works well with the staff, physicians and especially the patients' loved ones. She also helps train new volunteers going into the surgical waiting room. Ottaviano began volunteering in April 1996 and has accrued 11,377 hours. He volunteers in the physical therapy department and in the Cardiac Procedures Recovery Unit. Both areas sing his praises. In physical therapy he is very helpful to the patients and those using the exercise equipment. In the recovery unit, after he sets up the room for the nurses, he visits the patients and speaks with the family to add that special touch.
