WIN FINANCIAL SERVICES: Independent Financial Services in Land O'Lakes announces the 2014 Balancing Your Financial Future contest. One local person or family will win a complete financial plan, valued at $1,500, to help decide ways to meet your short- and long-term financial goals. There are no financial qualifications for the contest. The contest is open to Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas and Polk county residents. Entrants must write a statement of 300 words or less about why they should win, and "Like" the Independent Financial Services Facebook page. Those working with a financial planner cannot enter. DOCTOR LECTURES IN GEORGIA: Dr. David Kimmel from the Florida Center for Laser Dentistry in Bayonet Point, recently returned from Atlanta where he lectured and provided hands-on instruction on the advanced placement of Botox/Xeomin for facial fillers and myofascial pain. More than 200 doctors and dentists attended.

Kimmel has been practicing in Bayonet Point for 23 years and has been utilizing laser dentistry for 10 years.

PIGZ IN Z'HILLS BBQ & BLUES: The Greater Zephyrhills Chamber of Commerce's fourth annual Pigz in Z'Hills BBQ & Blues Fest will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Jan. 18 at the Zephyrhills Municipal Airport, 39450 South Ave., Zephyrhills. The event will include a barbecue, blues music, kids' zone, car/motorcycle show, business expo and aviation displays/WWII museum.
