GRAND OPENING AT ROOMS TO GO: Extensive renovations are complete and a grand opening is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Rooms to Go showroom at 9500 Scenic Drive in Port Richey.
The store, which originally opened in 1991, now features Rooms to Go's innovative store design. It has been expanded to more than 24,000 square feet and includes an expanded selection of living room, dining room, mattresses and bedroom furniture in decorator-coordinated room settings.
HOSPITAL RECEIVES AWARD: LifeLink of Florida recently notified Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point that it earned the Silver Recognition Level award by the Health Resources and Services Administration of the Department of Health & Human Services, in recognition of the hospital's organ donor registration efforts between June 2013 and May 2014.
SAINT LEO UNIVERSITY CELEBRATES OPENING: Saint Leo University and business partners recently celebrated the opening of the BB&T Center for Innovation & Technology at the Donald R. Tapia School of Business.
The center, made possible by a generous gift from BB&T Bank, encompasses the fourth floor of the School of Business building.
Highlights of the center are the Cybersecurity Laboratory, which supports the teaching of the university's new master's degree in the field, and the Collaboration Zone, where business students work on real-world projects for area companies and nonprofits.
CHAMBER PRESENTS 2014 COMMUNITY AND BUSINESS AWARDS: The Greater Dade City Chamber of Commerce recently held its annual awards presentation where community and business awards were presented.
Bonnie Krummen, vice president and branch manager of CenterState Bank, received the Business Leader of the Year award. CenterState Bank received the Large Business of the Year award.
The Dade City Animal Clinic, received the Small Business of the Year award. Restored Hope, a nonprofit organization, received the Civic Association of the Year award.
Salvador Jaurequi and Joey Wubbena, both received Citizen of the Year awards. Kelly Sinn of Sunrise of Pasco County received the Ambassador of the Year award.
Cliff Martin of Jarrett Ford, received the Chamber Member of the Year award. Billy Brown of Withlacoochee River Cooperative received the Richard Tombrink Lifetime Achievement award. Jimmy Adcock with TECO received the President's Award.

HARVEST FESTIVAL BUSINESS EXPO: The Greater Zephyrhills Chamber of Commerce will host the 2014 Harvest Festival Business Expo from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Zephyr Park, 38116 Fifth Ave., Zephyrhills.
Proceeds will benefit the Samaritan Project of Zephyrhills. The event is free and will feature entertainment, food, games, giveaways and exhibits from churches, businesses and nonprofit organizations.

LOCAL DOCTOR LECTURES ON BONE GRAFTING: Dr. Michael A. Pikos, a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon and the founder of Coastal Jaw Surgery, recently lectured on bone grafting along with 11 other clinicians at the Pikos Institute: Bone Symposium 2014 in Orlando.

HOSPITAL EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH: George A. Jasman III, registered pharmacy technician, was recently named the September Employee of the Month at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point in Hudson.
Jasman received an employee of the month pin, a selected blanket gift, a reception with refreshments for his colleagues and a coveted front row parking spot of his choosing for one month, as well as a $50 gift card.
DOCTOR LECTURES ON USE OF BOTOX: Dr. David Kimmel, from the Florida Center for Laser Dentistry, recently lectured to more than 30 doctors in Atlanta and assisted with instructional hands-on injections of Botox and facial fillers to show how they reduce and alleviate chronic headaches and facial pain.
Kimmel has been practicing in Bayonet Point for 24 years and has been utilizing laser dentistry for 10 years. His office is at 12124 Cobble Stone Drive, Bayonet Point.
