Want to flip houses? Tampa still one of the best places to try it

Despite rising prices, Tampa remains one of the best cities in which to flip houses. According to the personal finance site WalletHub, Tampa ranks 10th among 172 cities compared on such metrics as median purchase price and average remodeling costs.

Orlando ranks 16th, Jacksonville 54th and St. Petersburg 66th. The best city in which to flip is Sioux Falls, Idaho — Nampa and Boise, Idaho also ranked in the top 10 — while Newark, N.J., is the worst. Pittsburgh has the highest average return on gross investment, a whopping 145 percent, while Montgomery, Alabama has the lowest at about 6 percent.
