Feather Sound Country Club sold

CLEARWATER — The chief executive of a St. Petersburg health firm bought the Feather Sound Country Club last month for $5.15 million.

Community Health Solution of America CEO Dale Schmidt and his wife, Cheryl Haigley, now own the club at 2201 Feather Sound Drive, including its 18-hole golf course and 50,000-square-foot clubhouse.

Steven Ekovich, the national director of real estate brokerage Marcus & Millichap's Golf and Resort Properties Group, represented the seller, a Virginia-based golf operator called Fore Golf Partners, which will stay on to manage the club.

The new buyers, under the name Premier Club Holdings, have already begun fixing up the club, filing a notice with Pinellas County that they'd be replacing a roof and making other improvements.
