TAMPA — Have you ever fantasized about spending time with Beyoncé and Jay Z? Now you can actually live where the superstar couple themselves spent time.
The striking mid-century home that the duo rented this spring on Davis Islands just hit the market for $3.695 million.
Built in 1969, the three-bedroom, 21/2-bath house sits back from Riviera Drive and is surrounded with lush tropical foliage that screens it from everything except the bay waters to the west. The listing doesn't say so, but it's a fine place to hide from paparazzi and overeager fans.
That's apparently what drew Beyoncé and her rapper husband to the house as she prepared at Raymond James Stadium for her Formation Tour, which kicked off April 29 in Tampa.
During the couple's stay on the island, several people who said they worked for the tour popped into businesses along E Davis Boulevard but there were few if any confirmed sightings of Beyoncé herself. Members of her security detail, though, told one resident that she liked the neighborhood and considered it one of the best she had ever been in.
The 3,708-square-foot house is now owned by Steven and Lindsay McDonald; she hosted WFLA-TV's Daytime show for 10 years before moving to Colorado a few years ago to join a family construction business.
The couple bought the house in 2010 for $2.6 million. The highest-priced house currently on the market in Davis Islands is a contemporary home just down the street on Riviera Drive listed at $6.2 million.
