Located in the heart of Brandon, the Way 2 Dance Studio offers lessons in dance and skills for life.

Instructors at the studio, which opened earlier this month, teach students age 5 and up. It holds classes by age group for children and by experience levels for adults. The studio also offers a family class where parents and children can learn dance together.

The Way 2 Dance Studio offers other services such as private lessons, summer dance camps for youths and dance training for special occasions.

Owner Tatyana Frost has taught dance for nine years. When she moved to the Tampa area from Maryland in 2008, she knew she wanted to open her own studio.

"In times like these, you have to go after your dreams," said Frost, who is certified in many American and International styles such as Latin, ballroom, swing, rumba and samba. "I love to dance, and I want others to learn and to love dance as well."

The studio offers classes in several dance forms including: ballroom, salsa, Argentine tango and zumba. Each class lasts an hour. On Friday nights and Sunday afternoons, Frost offers special group classes where students learn a dance. After the lesson, she hosts a dance party so students can continue practicing.

"These dances are a set of important skills," Frost said. They teach posture, control, balance and social skills. These are skills that follow people throughout their lives."

While many large studios will have students commit to a number of classes on certain days, Way 2 Dance gives more flexibility. The classes are $8 per session. Dance punch cards are available for those who want to buy more than one session.

"There is no penalty for trying different styles," Frost said.

The Way 2 Dance is at 610 Oakfield Drive, Brandon. Studio hours vary. For more information or a schedule of classes, call (813) 966-4788.

GOP moves offices

The Hillsborough County Republican Party moved last week to another office building in Brandon.

The party's new home is at 1602 Oakfield Drive, Suite 207. The organization was formerly at 800 W Lumsden Road.

The new office provides dedicated office space, conference rooms and areas for training, along with integrated technology upgrades.

"It's very exciting to be in this new office," party staff person Josh Bugin said. "Plus, it's great to stay centrally located in this community."

For more information, call (813) 657-6499.
