The Tampa Bay area will get its first taste of Nordstrom Rack, the upscale retailer's version of an off-price chain in fall 2010.

The 45,000-square-foot store will sell discount-priced shoes and apparel in an abandoned Circuit City at Walters Crossing in Tampa. Filled with a Target, Home Depot, Whole Foods and DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse, the center is located on N Dale Mabry Highway at I-275.

Nordstrom operates only one of its 61 Rack stores in Florida now, but opens in Orlando on Nov. 6. While the Rack stocks some clearance goods at 50 to 60 percent less than their initial asking price at full-line Nordstrom stores, most of the goods were made to be sold only at the Rack.
