TAMPA — Bloomin' Brands, the Tampa-based restaurant conglomerate, has turned to a Disney executive to run one of its better-performing operations.
Bloomin' on Monday said it has appointed Beth Scott, 51, as senior vice president of Bloomin' and president of its Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar chain. Bloomin' is also the parent company of Carrabba's Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill and Outback Steakhouse.
"Beth's extensive hospitality experience makes her uniquely qualified for this role," Liz Smith, CEO of Bloomin', said in a statement.
Scott most recently worked as vice president of global food and beverage for Walt Disney Parks & Resorts. She will replace Skip Fox, who retired in July.
Fleming's has been a bright spot in the Bloomin' Brands portfolio. Last quarter, Bloomin' reported $71 million in sales from the fine-dining chain, up $2 million from the same quarter last year.
By comparison, sales at Carrabba's, Bonefish and Outback all declined from the year-ago period.
