Dunkin' Donuts this week is selling Royal Wedding Donuts at 89 cents apiece in all 9,300 U.S. stores. The coffee and donut chain ordered its cooks to dust off molds that make a heart shaped confection for Valentine's Day. They fill it with jelly, layer on white frosting and drizzle a chocolate squiggle on top. Since the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton airs in the wee hours of Friday morning when most of their donut shops are open and have a TV working, the chain figured wedding watchers will be in the mood for something extra. "It's fun," said Alexia Davis, Dunkin' Donuts spokeswoman. "Something for those of us not invited to the wedding." The company's corporate sibling, Baskin-Robbins, has a $30 royal wedding chocolate mousse ice cream cake.
