Ford out as amphitheater sponsor
It won't be the Ford Amphitheatre much longer. Southern Ford Dealers, a cooperative of 101 dealerships, will not renew its naming rights deal for the 20,000-seat venue at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa. The $775,000-a-year sponsorship expires May 9 after five years. Live Nation Inc., the Los Angeles concert promoter that owns the site, said it is talking with potential replacements but offered no names. "We own 47 amphitheaters," said spokesman John Vlautin. "So we deal with this all the time." The Florida State Fair Authority gets 20 percent of the sponsorship money.
