EPCOT'S Test Track ride TO BE RETOOLED
The Test Track ride at Walt Disney World will shut down in April for a total overhaul thanks to a new marketing sponsorship with General Motors. A more interactive pre- and post-show will change more than half the attraction experience while the track itself gets new ride vehicles that look more futuristic than the current vintage 1999 fleet. The old pre-show auto safety theme will give way to how autos are designed when the "reimagined" Epcot ride re-opens this fall. Park guests will have a hand in designing the car they ride around the test track at up to 65 mph. GM will use the post-show as a marketing showcase for Chevrolet rather than all brands.
