H&M to open third Tampa location in Westfield Citrus Park

Published Dec. 2, 2014

H&M, the Swedish-born "fast fashion" retailer with a cultish following, will open a third location in Tampa: a 20,000-square-foot behemoth in Westfield Citrus Park pegged for a spring 2015 debut.

The new store will join successful H&Ms in WestShore Plaza and International Plaza — spacious, well-lit enclaves where clothing trends straight off the runways (hence, "fast fashion") can be had for affordable prices.

The Citrus Park location will focus on "family" — ladies, men, young ladies, young men — plus a "store within a store" for accessories, lingerie, sports apparel and a plus-size line.

H&M (those fiery red slashing letters hover over every storefront) was founded in Sweden in 1947, but didn't open its first U.S. location, on New York's Fifth Avenue, until the turn of the century. Since then, the company has opened 356 locations around the country, 20 of which are in Florida.
