HSN to host a Rod Stewart concert in St. Petersburg

Ramping up more entertaining reasons to tune in, HSN this weekend broadcasts a live one-hour concert by Rod Stewart. The appearance in front of a handpicked studio audience in St. Petersburg is part of the pre-release hype for the rocker's new album, Fly Me to the Moon … The Great American Songbook Volume 5. The one-time event, which touts advance sales of the CD, which debuts Oct. 19, airs at 8 p.m. Saturday. This year the TV shopping network has dramatically stepped up its entertainment celebrity appearance lineup and promoted its first Hollywood film launch with a weekend of Eat Pray Love product spinoffs. The network, which in the past occasionally aired musical appearances by the likes of Natalie Cole, Micheal Bolton and Jewel, plans to stage more live performances to push new albums.
