A huge observation wheel run by the owners of the London Eye may be back on the horizon for Orlando's International Drive tourist strip. Merlin Entertainments Group, the British amusement giant turning Cypress Gardens into Legoland Florida, is talking about building one along with a Madame Tussauds wax museum in a retail development called I-Walk that would open as soon as 2013. Merlin, which operates the Millenium Project Eye overlooking the Thames in London, is proposing a 425-foot wheel for Orlando in a deal with Circle Entertainment Inc. and I-Walk developer Unicorp. Another Orlando wheel project announced before the recession died without financing.
