International Plaza is getting a Microsoft Store.

The electronics and computer software company is opening its first retail storefront in the Tampa Bay area at International Plaza, which will replace the Microsoft kiosk that has been there since 2013.

There is no set opening date yet for the 3,521-square-foot store. Microsoft will employ 30 people there.

This is the company's eighth store in Florida. Another store opened in Sarasota's Mall at University Town Center in June.

The new store will sell PC computers, Windows tablets, game consoles and accessories from brands like HP, Acer, Xbox, Dell, Lenovo and Sony. It will also provide training for Microsoft products like Microsoft Office and Windows 10. The stores aim to compete with the success of Apple stores, which have locations in International Plaza, Westfield Brandon and the Mall at University Town Center.

The first two Microsoft stores opened around the Windows 7 launch in 2009, and the company has been expanding ever since. The first store in Florida opened in Orlando at Florida Mall in 2012.
