Tory Burch boutique opens in Tampa's International Plaza

New York socialite/fashion designer Tory Burch opens her first Tampa Bay boutique today in International Plaza behind a striking pop art window display photo of a reindeer crafted from 1 million tiny LCD lights.

Inside, shoppers will find the full-line collection of shoes, handbags and apparel from a so-called preppy boho designer whose creations have sold locally at Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue.

Signature pieces range from $195 ballet flats with her TB logo to a $1,500 python handbag and tunics priced from $250.

Formerly married to a prominent venture capital tech fund investor, Burch, a 44-year-old mother of three, was inspired to launch her own brand in 2004 by a tunic she spotted in a Paris flea market then sold out of her Upper East Side home in New York. Six years later, she has 42 stores.
