Don't worry about driving by Trader Joe's future store in South Tampa and missing it.
The city of Tampa's variance review board late Tuesday unanimously approved the grocery store's request to install three signs on the building at 3808 W Swann Ave. and increase the total size of the signs to 211 square feet.
The representative of the developer said Trader Joe's needed the additional signage to help direct people headed to the store from Dale Mabry Highway who might not be familiar with the area.
The representative also said Trader Joe's plans to renovate and expand the existing Shapes gym building rather than tear it down and start from scratch in order to accommodate more parking.
The 12,300-square-foot store is expected to open in 2014, the first in the Tampa Bay area.
