Whole Foods Market opens its second Tampa Bay area store Thursday at 3802 Northdale Blvd., near N Dale Mabry Highway in the Carrollwood neighborhood. The 6-acre site formerly housed a JCPenney credit card processing center. Whole Foods opened its first Tampa Bay store five years ago at 1548 N Dale Mabry Highway near Interstate 275, about 10 miles south of Carrollwood. Last month, news broke that the chain of health food grocery stores known for its vast salad bar, hot food bar and soup selection along with many rare products was considering property in downtown St. Petersburg for another location. Whole Foods has more than 331 stores. The company had $10.1 billion in revenues in its last fiscal year and $342.6 million in net income.
