Winn-Dixie Stores donated 32,392 pounds worth of food to Feeding America Tampa Bay as part of its Winn-Dixie Hunger Relief campaign, which ran in stores Nov. 7 through Dec. 24.
Officials from the food bank and the Jacksonville-based grocer will celebrate the donation today at the Winn-Dixie at 6501 102nd Ave. N in Pinellas Park. The store raised more money for the campaign than any other Winn-Dixie in the Tampa Bay area. The donation was enough to provide more than 26,000 meals for people in west central Florida.
Winn-Dixie also donates to several Feeding America affiliates weekly.
