Corey Avenue Sidewalk Sale starts today

The Corey Avenue Spring Sidewalk Sale kicks off today and runs through Sunday. More than 15 merchants will offer sales, promotions and prizes from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. is "Ladies Nigh Out." Merchants will stay open late after the sidewalk sale to offer refreshments, door prizes and entertainment. Visit online at www.coreyave.com or call (727) 366-2003.

Women honored at chamber symposium

Dr. Teresa Bradley of St. Anthony's Hospital was named Business Woman of the Year during the St. Petersburg Area Chamber Foundation's 2009 Women's Symposium Tuesday at the Hilton St. Petersburg Bayfront. Barbara McCormick Heck, president of CONA, was named Community Service Woman of the Year. Ursula M. Burns, president of Xerox Corp. was the keynote speaker.

Reading glasses now available at store

Impulse CliCs will hold a grand opening from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday. Originally, CliCs, the popular reading glasses, were only available online at ImpulseCliCs.com, but owner David Knowlton decided to open a storefront in St. Petersburg.

The shop is at 2323 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. N. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call (727) 823-1783.
