Tampa Bay gas prices are among the lowest in Florida as prices continue to fall in the wake of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. Bay area motorists are now paying an average of $2.55 a gallon, the same as the national average but seven cents less than the statewide average and 17 cents less than in West Palm Beach, according to the American Automobile Association.

Florida gas prices peaked at $2.73 on Sept. 14 and have declined for 17 consecutive days.

Despite the recent downturn, the statewide average is still 47 cents higher than at the same time last year. Florida's all-time high for gasoline was $4.07 on July 17, 2008.
