Digital sales manager joins Tampa Bay Times
Monica Boyer started work this week as the new digital sales manager of the Tampa Bay Times, its website tampabay.com and its free tabloid tbt*.
Bruce Faulmann, vice president of sales and marketing for the newspaper's parent Times Publishing Co., touted Boyer's experience working in the Tampa Bay market. She spent the past 12 years in the same position at WFLA-Ch. 8.
"She's a well-established digital sales leader in the marketplace," Faulmann said. "We're thrilled to have her onboard."
Boyer, 38, started her career at the Washington Post. Then she went to work for the Tampa Tribune and its website, tbo.com. In 2002 she became the digital sales manager at WFLA-Ch. 8.
"She has both broadcast and newspaper experience in the digital world," said Jounice Nealy-Brown, spokeswoman for Times Publishing Co.
Boyer will lead the Times Publishing Co. digital sales team, and a company memo noted that she has a "proven track record of digital sales growth." She has experience working with local and national accounts and a variety of platforms: Web, social media, mobile platforms, SMS and email. She started work on Monday.
