Tampa Bay Times to distribute Stars and Stripes military news

The Tampa Bay Times is joining forces with Stars and Stripes, the U.S. military's only independent news media, to bring military news to local service members and their families.

On Thursdays, the Times will distribute 5,000 copies of the weekly Stars and Stripes in 40 blue news racks on MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa and in nearby residential areas. A list of locations is available online at

"We are so honored to offer Tampa Bay this powerful combination of award-winning newspapers and serve our military community," said Bruce Faulmann, vice president of sales and marketing for the Times.

The free tabloid newspaper will feature articles and in-depth stories reported by Stars and Stripes from U.S. military installations around the world and include local advertising.

The Times and tbt*, its free daily edition, are already on the base and its surrounding areas.
