TAMPA – If you live under one of the Tampa International Airport flight paths, you might notice more, or fewer, planes coming and going in the next few days.
The airport has to close the runway on its western side to perform require maintenance to drainage canals. The closure means the airport must move all north-south plane traffic to the eastern side of the airfield.
Residents who live under that flight path "may notice some increased aircraft noise as a result of changes to the normal traffic pattern," the airport stated in a news release.
The maintenance is scheduled for Wednesday through Dec. 21, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Work will be suspended during the week of Christmas. The airport will notify the public of any needed additional runway closures after the holiday.
