Tampa Port Authority officials are happy with the new management of their most high-profile property: Channelside Bay Plaza.
The agency battled its previous tenant, Channelside Bay Plaza LLC, over unpaid bills before agreeing in June to waive $439,000 in debt as part of a foreclosure deal.
A court-appointed receiver of the shopping and entertainment complex sent the public agency a $249,000 check this month to cover five months rent and discounted parking for Channelside customers. The port authority owns the land under Channelside.
"The receiver is moving in the right direction, said deputy port authority director Zelko Kirincich. "It's improving.''
