Media General will eliminate 250 to 260 jobs at its Florida operations, including the Tampa Tribune and WFLA Channel 8. The number includes 21 advertising jobs eliminated Tuesday and 120 positions cut earlier. The company said 54 people are expected to leave under a voluntary buyout, which was offered to 650 of the 1,326 full-time employees. That leaves about 50 to 60 positions to be eliminated. The job cuts are part of a company-wide effort to trim costs in the face of declining advertising revenue.
