TripAdvisor ranks Homewood Suites in Brandon as top hotel in Tampa Bay area

And the best hotel in Tampa is … the Homewood Suites in Brandon. At least that's the opinion of hotel reviewers on the travel Web site TripAdvisor. As the highest-rated hotel in Tampa over the last year, the three-star property was included among TripAdvisor's Top 25 Hotels in the United States. It's not about spas, gourmet dining or champagne on ice. Reviewers rate lodging based on "the very best combination of quality, value and service,'' says TripAdvisor spokeswoman Amelie Hurst. The rankings can change daily, and the local Homewood currently ranks #4 out of 160 Tampa hotels, well ahead of fancier digs like the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay (#15), the InterContinental in Westshore (#18) and the Marriott Tampa Waterside downtown (#31).
