Tampa Bay Rays fans will see more than new names on the field when the season kicks off Friday vs. the New York Yankees. The Whitney Bank Club at Tropicana Field today becomes the Hancock Bank Club, which reflects the bank's recent merger and name change.
Whitney Bank merged with Hancock Bank last summer, and became Hancock Bank in March. There are 18 branches in Tampa Bay.
The bank pays for naming rights of the 379-seat suite, which features buffets, bars and seating areas. Hancock has the name and a few seats but most of the tickets are sold by the Rays to season ticket holders or businesses.
