West Pasco Chamber schedules series of workshops, seminars for Business Development Week

The West Pasco Chamber of Commerce will host Business Development Week from Monday through Jan. 29 with workshops and seminars to help anyone who wants to start or expand their business.

The event starts with a kick-off luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday at Spartan Manor, 6121 Massachusetts Ave., New Port Richey. Guest will be motivational speaker Mark Royals. Cost is $25. For information or to RSVP, call the chamber at (727) 842-7651.

The 26th annual Chasco Coronation Ball will be March 25 at Spartan Manor in New Port Richey. The Coronation Ball committee encourages civic organizations and groups to nominate dedicated volunteers for the 2011 King Pithla and/or Queen Chasco.

The king and queen are chosen for their dedication and commitment to the community. Each year nominations are submitted as a way of recognizing these outstanding volunteers. The king and queen are chosen by judges who review the nominee questionnaire and rate their contributions to the community.

Nominations will be accepted until Feb. 18 and may be e-mailed to Sylvia Stinson-Perez at sperez@lighthouse-pasco.org. Nominations should include nominee's name, mailing address, phone number and e-mail address.

The West Pasco Chamber of Commerce announces that Linda Hawkins, Bonnie Howard, Sean Kline and Ginny Pierce are vying for the bragging rights to "Governor of West Pasco," a post with no pay.

For a dollar a vote, chamber members can vote for their favorite. The new governor will be named at the Business Development Week Chamber Awards Banquet on Feb. 17. The deadline to vote is Feb. 4.

All proceeds will benefit the winner's favorite charity and the West Pasco Chamber of Commerce. Hawkins of H&R Block is raising funds for Healthy Start Coalition of Pasco County.
