Want to work somewhere with great pay and benefits? Nurturing relationships between subordinates and supervisors? Overall engagement and job satisfaction? Well, look no further than Florida Trend magazine's "Florida's best companies to work for in 2009." It is the first time the publication, which is owned by the Times Publishing Company, which also owns the St. Petersburg Times, has compiled such a list. Questions focused on eight themes: Leadership and planning; corporate culture and communications; role satisfaction; work environment; relationship with supervisor; training and development; pay and benefits; and overall engagement. Part of the survey dealt with company policies, practices and demographics. The second part of the survey was administered to sample groups of employees. Companies were grouped into three categories: large companies with 250 or more employees, midsized companies with 50 to 249 employees and small companies with fewer than 50. IT Authorities, an information services monitor, was the only Tampa Bay company to be at the top of one of the lists. For the complete list, see floridatrend.com.
