Florida is hardly alone in its jobs funk this summer.
Thirteen other states joined Florida in reporting unchanged unemployment rates for July while rates rose in 28 states, according to a U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics report Monday. Only eight states boasted a drop in their jobless rate — the fewest to see a decline since January.
Florida's unemployment rate, released Friday, stayed at 7.1 percent for the third straight month.
On the positive side, Florida's addition of 27,600 jobs month over month was third highest among all states, trailing only California (up 38,100 jobs) and Georgia (up 30,900 jobs).
