Banking

Mark Smith has been named vice president and audit director at the Bank of Tampa. Smith brings 10 years of internal auditing experience, the past four of which have been spent in the banking industry. Before joining the Bank of Tampa, Smith was assistant vice president and senior internal auditor at First Citizens Bank in Columbia, S.C.

Robert Shaw has been named market president at NorthStar Bank for the Belleair Bluffs and the Pinellas County market. Shaw, who has over 17 years of commercial banking experience, comes to NorthStar Bank from USAmeriBank where he was senior vice president of commercial banking. Before USAmeriBank, Shaw served as the Clearwater regional executive for Signature Bank.

Kade Peterson has been named chief operating officer at USAmeriBank, Tampa. A 25-year veteran of the banking industry, Peterson most recently served as executive vice president of operations at Sterling Bank, now Umpqua Bank, in Spokane, Wash.

Finance

Eric Caisse has been elected chairman of the Tampa Bay chapter of the Market Technicians Association (MTA). The MTA is a not-for-profit regulatory organization that focuses on educating the public, the investment community and its members in the theory, practice and application of technical analysis. Caisse serves as director of investments for Csenge Advisory Group, Clearwater.

Health care

Dr. David T. Braun has joined Tampa Bay Orthopaedic Specialists in Pinellas Park. Braun is an orthopedic sports medicine surgeon specializing in arthroscopic and minimally invasive reconstructive surgery of bones and joints. He has worked with Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Indians and Pittsburgh Pirates players, as well as numerous minor-league, collegiate, high school and club teams. Braun received his medical degree and master of business administration from Temple University School of Medicine, Philadelphia. He completed his internship and orthopedic surgery residency at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. He continued his education with a Fellowship in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine at Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

Home builders

Hollie Maxwell has been promoted to marketing coordinator at Lennar's Central Florida Division, Tampa. Maxwell joined Lennar 15 months ago as administrative assistant for sales and is a graduate of Indiana State University.
