A University of Miami team lead by senior Justin Leiser, a Safety Harbor resident and graduate of Tampa's Berkeley Prep high school, won a marketing contest sponsored by the NASCAR auto racing giant against teams from 11 other universities. The "NASCAR Kinetics" challenge involved five-member teams analyzing NASCAR-related case studies, culminating in organizing a viewing party of a NASCAR race to raise the awareness of the NASCAR brand and its sponsors on university campuses. Leiser, 22, said Friday that his winning Miami team will travel to Charlotte, N.C., in May for the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race and "see behind-the-scenes aspects of NASCAR." The contest was featured in a St. Petersburg Times Business section column on Thursday.
