Rapper 'Machine Gun Kelly' sued over St. Petersburg bar brawl

A security guard at a local bar has filed a lawsuit against Ohio rapper Richard Baker, who goes by the name "Machine Gun Kelly," over a brawl that occurred in January.

William E. Long says Baker and others were in a "melee" at Bishop Tavern, 260 First Ave. N, and that Baker used a liquor bottle to cut one of the fingers on Long's right hand.

The finger got infected, and Long required two surgeries and eight days in the hospital, according to the lawsuit.

Instead of expressing remorse, the lawsuit says, Baker "exploited the incident for promotional and commercial gain, such that the incident went 'viral' on the Internet."

Baker was arrested in connection with the brawl and charged with disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. That case is pending.
