Trial postponed for man charged with multiple rapes

LARGO — A sexual battery trial for Michael Lee Montgomery has been rescheduled for October. Montgomery, 49, of Gulfport, faces charges of raping and humiliating women in ways that have even shocked law enforcement veterans, including smearing feces on the victims and taking photographs.

Montgomery originally was scheduled to go on trial in the Pinellas County criminal courts complex this morning. The new trial date is Oct. 13.
