Brooksville man accused of impregnating two cousins

Man impregnated 2 cousins, officials say

A Brooksville man was arrested Wednesday on charges that he had sexual intercourse with his 12- and 13-year-old cousins, both of whom became pregnant.

The Hernando County Sheriff's Office charged Michael Anthony Roeder, who turned 19 Thursday, with two counts of lewd and lascivious battery on a child under the age of 16.

According to authorities, Roeder admitted upon questioning to having consensual sex with the victims in February and March while he shared a residence owned by the mother of the girls.

Authorities said pregnancy tests performed at Brooksville Regional Medical Center earlier in the week revealed that Roeder impregnated both girls.

Roeder was taken to the Hernando County Jail, where he was being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
